BLOBS #20 RESULTS

Happy Friday -  its RESULTS DAY!   I also had the honor of being a "blogger" on the SCBWI MICHIGAN BLOGSPOT today, called THE MITTEN.  If you browse around the site, you'll learn more about our chapter and the fine writers and illustrators in the group.  The post I wrote is about where THE BLOB BLOG idea came from!  It was a great break from my drawing streak lately!  A special THANK YOU to Kristin Lenz for getting my Friday feature updated...a couple times:)

Below are the latest and greatest BLOBS....

BLOBS #20

Thanks for tuning in this Monday and maybe even downloading a fresh batch of BLOBS.   I have some Holiday card drawings to tie up, so will keep this brief.  Get your new sheet here!  A few more pointier shapes then normal to break forms up this week.  What animals can YOU think of that have sharp features?  We tested them out this morning and my daughter even flipped the page over to experiment with the reflected BLOB shape.  Try it out for yourself and have a great week!

Happy Friday and so glad its here.  Not much to report today except BLOB results!  I also just discovered pictures from the Silent Book Contest Exhibition Photo Gallery!  We made the trip last March to the Bologna Children's Book Fair, and there are pictures from that presentation and post-toast as well.  What an unforgettable trip.

Enjoy the character designs below and have a great weekend!

BLOBS #18

Happy Halloween Week!  Hope you enjoyed some pumpkin carving, costume completing or  good ol' leaf pile leaping.  We did pretty much all of that!  Check out my FB page for finished (hooray hooray) UNIKITTY costume pictures.  It was put to the test at our first Trick or Treating event and...all pieces stayed together!  The wind had me a little on edge though, I couldn't help but picture her blue paper horn whipping right off and landing in a tree - but thankfully - all stayed intact.  Two more walk & wearings to go!

Here are the kids pumpkins they carved with friends at our Annual Pumpkin Carving Family Bash...

And...a new BLOBS sheet. What do YOU see?  Maybe a Halloween character or even a pumpkin inspired design?  Push that imagination and have fun trick or treating this week!

BLOBS #17 RESULTS

Happy Friday!  Hope you had a good week and if you're crafting your own Halloween costume...maybe a tinge bit of pressure is creeping up on you.  IT HAS HERE!  I've got a little over 24 hours to pull UNIKITTY together.  What's left to do: some sizing tweaks, painting parts and final gluing which leads me to the next update.  Sketches only for BLOBS this week. However, results are arranged a little differently.  It was fun to see how each of us rotated our shapes to get our characters, so they are all - side by side.  Let me know what you think!  AND check out my Facebook page for more UNIKITTY construction pictures here...Good luck to the rest of you Halloween costume crafters!

BLOBS #17

Hope your weekend was filled with fun and adventure.  We now have a couple of pumpkins crying out for creative carving time!  What are your pumpkin plans?  Sketching out face possibilities is always an activity we look forward to at our house.  Look out for the results here!

BLOBS this week were inspired by Halloween shapes and characters.  What do YOU see?  Click HERE to get your sheet.

BLOBS #16 RESULTS

Happy Friday!  Thanks for checking in!  Seems superheros, birds and periwigs were on our minds this week.  Could it be the Halloween spirit in the air?  Have fun viewing all of our BLOBS.  There was also a little drawing duel-ing going on between characters...Elliot's "I'm telling kid" inspired my "It wasn't me!" bird. Hope you had fun with these shapes as much as we did.  Since 17th/18th century poofy white wigs made an appearance on our characters, I had to google to find out what the proper name was, discovering "periwigs".  This ofcourse led to other images, one being pretty crafty!  A great alternative if you're still looking for a homemade Halloween costume idea (and you hold on to those empty toilet rolls).  Scroll down for the SUPER GRANNY progression down below too!
